Plankton Energy Delivers Solar Energy to Mantua Township Fire District No. 1

Plankton Energy, a New York-based solar energy developer, has partnered with Mantua Township Fire District No. 1 to install a 48-kilowatt rooftop solar system at the department’s Fire Headquarters in Sewell, New Jersey. The system, which includes 125 solar modules, is expected to generate approximately 63,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually, providing clean, reliable power to the fire station. The project was supported by New Jersey’s Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program, which provides financial incentives aimed at accelerating the deployment of clean energy across the state.

Over the lifespan of the system, the Mantua Fire Department is projected to save more than $185,000 in electricity costs and avoid over 496 metric tons of carbon emissions—the environmental equivalent of removing 116 gas-powered vehicles from the road.
