Buena Vista Apartments Powers Up with Solar Through Partnership with Plankton Energy

Plankton Energy has completed the installation of a 59.9-kilowatt rooftop solar system at Buena Vista Apartments in Minotola, New Jersey. The system is designed to meet the apartment complex’s electricity needs, delivering clean, on-site renewable energy directly to the property. The project was supported by New Jersey’s Successor Solar Incentive (SuSI) Program, which provides financial incentives aimed at accelerating the deployment of clean energy across the state.

Now fully operational, the solar installation is expected to generate over 76,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually, resulting in more than $250,000 in energy cost savings over its lifetime. In addition to the financial benefits, the system will reduce carbon emissions by over 520 metric tons—equivalent to the emissions from burning more than 58,460 gallons of gasoline.
